Welcome! The TransPanama Trail's goal is to inspire interest and increase access to outdoor recreation in Panama.

The TransPanama Trail mission is to raise awareness of and access to the TransPanama Trail by documenting a through hike. The documentation is intended to be an organized resource with useful information about the trail, points of interest and potential encounters along the way for future hikers.

The TransPanama Trail is a long distance hiking route (approximately 700 mile-long) that traverses Panama from the border of Colombia to the border of Costa Rica, connecting a network of existing trails and rural roads.

On June 14, 2017 David Byers and Sean Beyard reached the Colombia/Panama border and began their investigative through hike reaching Costa Rica on September 14. You can expect a formal report of the investigation and a preview of a TransPanama Trail guide book by 2019.

Meanwhile please feel free to take a look at the route and enjoy all of the multi media about hiking in Panama. For more information contact David Byers at david84b@gmail.com
