Leaf cutter ants going to town on the #transpanamatrail #seanbeoutside #caminandopanama
And let's not forget that my tropical hiking buddy Sean is out there crushing huge miles on the #appalachiantrail trying to set a fastest known time for an unsupported hike up AND back down the AT. Woah... talk about pushing limits.
If you're feeling inspired donate a couple bucks do he has some extra cash to buy a hot meal when he passes through a town.

10 months after finishing the #transpanamatrail I'm finally getting around to compiling all the GPS data from our hike. A couple of people have reached out to express their interest in attempting a 2019 thru hike. oooooo it would be a dream come true to pass the baton. Stay tuned for updates as I get all the data together.
I want to give a shout out to #caminandopanama for the continued technical support and encouragement.

And another shout out to #canopycampdarien where I currently manage a birding eco lodge and have grear facilities to continue working on my trail project.
Finally got a chance to see the @northwindprintco headquarters and get our hands dirty OFF of the #transpanamatrail and inside the workshop. Amazing to see the professionalism and care Steve puts into his craft. Again, huge thanks for hand printing every TransPanama Trail t-shirt voluntarily. Stay tuned for out next collaborative project in 2018, Dos Aguas.
The last few weeks have allowed me a lot of contemplation and peace as I rest up post #transpanamatrail hike. It's incredible how stepping onto the trail and 'away' from society has only strengthened my relationships with friends and family. I can't thank everyone enough. Look at all these smiling faces! If anyone still wants to snag a TransPanama Trail shirt, Steve of @northwindprintco will continue selling them. Just go to www.thetranspanamatrail.com and click on the shirt.
Thank you Appalachian Long Distance Hikers Association for having us at your annual gathering and allowing us to share the #transpanamatrail adventure with the hiking community. We had a great time sitting in on other presentations and appreciate the hard work you all are doing to keep the hiking spirit alive and well. I look forward to becoming more involved and using the knowledge and experience that ALDHA has to help move the TransPanama Trail into the long distance hiking arena! Also, we ran into Jim who I met on my AT through hike in 2010. What a treat!
With our success on the #transpanamatrail we decided to attempt the four state challenge on the Appalachian Trail where you walk 47 miles in 24 hours and step in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. Well, we gave it our all but came up short 7 miles and one state. Either way we had a hell of a journey with an all night full moon hike, a group of white tail deer, several snakes, turtles, and frogs, beaaautiful weather AND the coolest thing of all, a chance to chat with some south bound through hikers. Now it's nap time.
